Cornels Story

A former Major in the Army, Cornel has been competing in wheelchair tennis, swimming, cycling and golf in Toronto 2017.

She has a functional impairment illness and reduced mobility. Cornel represented the Army and Combined Services in several sports

during her military career.

Having dearly missed competing, she says it’s a privilege to be part of the UK Team

for this year’s Games.

Cornels Story

 

Cornel's mom rushed to the court to hug her daughter after her bronze-medal win. “I am excited for her,” her mother said. “It is an honour to be here to share this moment with her. This is the first time her and Kirk have played together. This is her first Invictus Games.” - read the full story here

Cornel: “It’s very, very special to be wearing gold for Invictus Games,” said Cornel. “Not just for myself but hopefully for the UK team and certainly for my family and my friends, some of them who are here and some of them who are back home.”
